Congratulations are in order for nine island author's whose books have recently been chosen for the 2012 short list of the Prince Edward Island Book Award.

The PEI Book Awards are held every two years, and the nine authors were chosen by a jury from the categories of Non-fiction, Fiction and Poetry. Not only will the authors receive a cash prize, but they will also receive an award handcrafted by Susana Rutherford of Firehorse Studios in Charlottetown.

The winning authors are as follows.

Non-Fiction:

Marian Bruce - Remembering Old Dan
John Eldon Green - Still Laughing, Afterthoughts of an Albany Boy
Jane Ledwell and others - Elaine Harrison: I am an Island that Dreams

Fiction:

Patti Larson - Family Magic
Patti Larson - Run (The Haunted)
Dale McNevin - Treasures to Find

Poetry:

Carol Little - A Study in Love
Leslie Stewart - Go’Way, Island Folklore and More
Dianne Hicks Morrow - What Really Happened is This

Congratulations again goes to these nine authors. The Island Book Awards ceremony will be held in the Beaconsfield Carriage House on May 16th at 7pm.
