Volume 22 of Red Magazine – The Island Storybook, edited by David Weale, highlights Island life and culture.
Howdy REDheads! We’re pleased as punch to announce the launch of RED volume twenty-two, sure to get you through the dregs of winter till things fine-up in the spring. As usual, we’ve got a stellar line-up of author’s on board, and sixty-four pages packed full of finely spun Island tales.
We’re thrilled to have Gary Evans back in RED after a brief hiatus, with the story of his family’s transition from Toronto to Morrell Rear – a wee bit of culture shock as you can imagine — and the game changing cup of tea that made Morell Rear feel like home.
First time RED contributor Laurie Langford pitched us an absolute gem with her story “The Beast,” in which she comes home to the Island to reconcile with her past. It’s a fine piece of writing that will leave you assured that soul searching is best done with the assistance of a Ford Mustang.
We’ve got stories about Generous Gene MacLellan, The Old Fort Augustus Community Store, the Wrath of Dorian, and a whole lot more.
Hope you enjoy reading volume 22 as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Happy reading REDheads!
